Memo for our clients
Dear Partners,
The Company's policy is aimed at preventing and actively fighting fraud. Both within our company and outside it, we adhere to a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud and use a full range of measures to prevent fraudulent activities. The Company warns against entering into agreements (contracts, deals) with unscrupulous market participants who distribute fictitious commercial offers for the sale of metal products via the Internet and e-mail, allegedly on behalf of the Company or its affiliated companies.
Please note that all electronic business correspondence conducted on behalf of the Company or other affiliated companies of ArcelorMittal group is carried out only from corporate servers. All e-mail addresses of the Company have the following domain name: @arcelormittal.com.
No official of the Company, including sales managers and company executives, conducts official correspondence on behalf of the Company from mail servers such as gmail.com, rambler.ru, mail.ru, etc.
The Company's official correspondence excludes the possibility of communication or forwarding to any other domain names. Receiving a message with calls for communication by any other means, including through other mail servers, which, for example, are indicated in the signature of a Company employee, is a sign of fraud.
The Company does not use free e-mail services to discuss terms of cooperation and/or conclude agreements. The Company and its affiliated entities do not establish contractual relationships and do not provide guarantees for the delivery of goods remotely via the Internet and e-mail.
The Company reserves the right to take legal action to stop fraudulent activities of unscrupulous market participants. Do not agree to offers from fraudsters to pay money and conclude contracts. If you have been affected by illegal actions, immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
We remind you that Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for criminal liability for the illegal use of trademarks for goods and services, brand names, and qualified indications of the origin of goods. The liability provided for by this provision is actively applied in practice. Thus, according to open sources (in particular, the Unified State Register of Court Decisions), over the past 5 years alone, approximately 100 convictions have been handed down in Ukraine against persons who have committed this crime. Thus, ArcelorMittal's rights to its own trademarks for goods and services, as well as its own trade name, are protected not only by civil law, which gives the right to recover damages caused to the company from the violator, but also by criminal law.
To avoid entering into agreements with unscrupulous participants in the metal products market:
1. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the contact information of the Company's representatives authorized to communicate regarding the sale of the Company's metal products is listed on the company's website https://ukraine.arcelormittal.com/;
The Company shall not be responsible for any negative consequences that may arise for persons as a result of agreeing on the sale of the Company's metal products with unauthorized representatives of the Company in the field of sales.
2. We recommend:
2.1 When receiving an offer (including by email) to sell you the Company's metal products on behalf of the Company:
• go to the Company's official website and make sure that you have received the offer from a person authorized to represent the Company's interests in the field of sales. On this website, you can find, among other things, the names and surnames of the Company's authorized representatives and their official email addresses.
2.2 Upon receiving information and/or an agreement (a copy thereof) where the Company is one of the parties (e.g., a power of attorney or an agreement (treaty, contract) or information referring to them) from an individual whose details are not listed on the Company's website, contact an authorized representative of the Company (contact details are available on the website) and verify the authenticity of the information and/or agreement you have received.
