Quality

Quality management system operating at PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih was first certified in 1994, when the company received a certificate of quality system compliance to international standard ISO 9003.

With the development of global management practice, the surrounding business environment and the accumulation of new knowledge, the Company management system has changed and developed.
Since 2010, the quality system of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has met the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2008.

In the period from 2010 to 2019, the company successfully passed supervisory and re-certification audits of Quality Management System compliance to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
In connection with the new edition of ISO 9001 version 2015, which contained significant changes and conceptually new approaches to the quality system, serious preparatory work was carried out to implement the new requirements and in 2019 the quality management system of the company was certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2015. In 2022, it was successfully re-certified.

The company's products are certified in accordance with the requirements of national standards not only of Ukraine, but also of other countries - Germany, Great Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Lithuania, Poland, Israel, Australia, etc.

Since the beginning of the decision on the implementation of the quality system and until today, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has been fruitfully cooperating with both technical supervisory organizations and all concerned parties to improve not only the quality of products, but also the management system as a whole.

Thus, in 2018, a sustainable development management system was introduced in accordance with the requirements of British standard BES 6001 and PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih became the first full-cycle mining and metallurgical company in the world that today has a certificate of sustainable development management and responsible sourcing.

To carry out the procedures required for product certification, PJSC ARCELORMITTAL KRYVYI RIH has a testing centre accredited in accordance with the requirements of international standard DSTU EN ISO/IEC 17025. The stated scope of accreditation covers 96 names of materials and more than 600 types of tests. The testing centre of PJSC ARCELORMITTAL KRYVYI RIH is considered one of the most equipped in the mining and metallurgical industry of Ukraine. The testing centre includes:

  • express laboratory of BOF Shop, which serves converters and CCMs;
  • chemical laboratory of SP, involved in incoming control of raw materials, materials of metallurgical production, solid fuel and lubricants;
  • express-quantometric laboratories No.1 and No. 2, which mainly serve sinter and blast processes of the company;
  • laboratory for physical-mechanical and metallographic tests, which allows to carry out tests of rolled sections and rebars at all stages of its production (acceptance tests), as well as tests of refractory raw materials and products;
  • laboratory of metallurgical science, specializing in physical-mechanical and metallographic studies of materials and parts to ensure processes of production and conducting claims work.

Another important subdivision in ensuring the effective functioning of the quality system of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is Metrological Centre of Quality Department.

In 2013, Metrological Centre for the first time confirmed its competence as a calibration laboratory that meets the requirements of international standard DSTU ISO / IEC 17025. This is confirmed by the accreditation certificate issued by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU). Accreditation is necessary in order to ensure a unified engineering policy in the field of conformity assessment, consumer confidence in the results of conformity assessment activities, to create conditions for mutual recognition of the results of the activities of accredited bodies at the international level.

Metrological Centre of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih became the first laboratory in Ukraine among calibrating laboratories of industrial companies, which possesses the accreditation certificate for technical competence according to DSTU ISO/IEC 17025

Metrological service performs calibration of measuring instruments of geometric and mechanical values, pressure and vacuum measurements, temperature and electrical values with the assessment of measurement uncertainty. In 2015, Metrological Centre of Quality Department of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih expanded its scope of accreditation by calibration of optical-physical measuring instruments (spectrometers). Currently, Metrological Centre is authorized to calibrate measuring instruments (within the approved scope of accreditation), both for accredited laboratories of our company and for other companies of Ukraine. The achieved result eliminates technical barriers in the certification of products of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, which undoubtedly improves the image of the company.
