Happy International Women’s Day!
Dear women of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih!
Every year, 8 March, the International Women's Day, stresses all of the importance, role and journey of women in society. We have long moved away from stereotypes that this day is only about spring and love. Instead, we respect the historical path that women have taken to achieve opportunities for development and success in all fields. Today, science, production, art, education and medicine would not be possible without women and their professionalism.
At ArcelorMittal, and, in particular, at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, we provide equal opportunities for women and men - it is part of our corporate culture. After all, such concepts as experience, courage, resilience, purposefulness, determination cannot be divided by gender. The contribution of women to the development of the company is very valuable.
Now, when Ukraine and our company are going through difficult times, when many men and women are protecting us on the battlefield, when we have a shortage of qualified personnel, one of the main focuses has been the employment of women, their retraining and development. Today, more than a third of our team are women: crane operators, electricians, turners, millers, drivers, laboratory assistants, managers and other professions. Our women have become a symbol of resilience and support for the whole world. At the same time, they are wonderful mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters. You know how to wait patiently, prove your point confidently, generate ideas and protect who and what is dear to them fearlessly.
I am convinced that the leadership qualities of women make our company much better. That is why, for the third year in a row, despite the war, we are holding a women's forum where our colleagues can exchange experiences, ideas, advice, and success stories.
And I believe that after Ukraine's victory, we will return to our lives more confident and resilient, and continue to build a world of equal opportunities, where everyone can succeed without gender or other barriers, where we will all have peace and prosperity.
Congratulations on 8 March, dear women!
Yours sincerely,
Mauro Longobardo,
Chief Executive Officer, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih
