Message from Mauro Longobardo, CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, on Health and Safety Week 2025

Dear colleagues!

Traditionally, we celebrate Health and Safety Week at the end of April on the occasion of the World Health and Safety Day. This year, ArcelorMittal will celebrate this day on April 29.

A number of events is taking place at our company this week to remind everyone once again of the value of life, the need to protect it, and the importance of taking care of their own and their colleagues' health. Life is more valuable than any equipment or any products. We must remember this when we go to work and when we are at home.

And this is where every employee must be a leader - both for their colleagues and for themselves. Your professional and personal qualities, your experience, your desire and, most importantly, your belief in the possibility of working without injuries and fatalities - all these are the components of safe work. This is what our Believe in Zero campaign is aimed at. If every employee believes that we can become a company with zero fatalities and zero injuries, that people will stop dangerous actions of their colleagues, that everyone will return home alive and healthy, this will become our way of life.

Right now, we are at the stage when we need actions in addition to belief. Often these actions are quite simple: talk to a person if they are having a hard time, stop a colleague who is disregarding safety rules, take care of your own health, suggest a way to improve the workflow if you are sure that it will save someone's life.  

Nowadays, we are all going through challenging times, when constant stress due to the war and the inability to plan for the long term add to the risks both in the working environment and at home. That is why psychological support and attention to each other are at the forefront. As part of this campaign, the Health Festival will be held for the third year in a row, where experts from various fields will share their experience, and you will be able to find a lot of interesting things for your development and change. 

Join the events of the Health and Safety Week! I urge you to choose the right safe path in all cases in your life. Only through your awareness of the value of life we will be able to achieve the noble goal of zero fatalities at our company.
