Key indicators
To determine the level of occupational injuries PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih uses an objective indicator – the frequency rate of accidents (frequency rate or FR). Indicator is used to measure the level of occupational injuries and to monitor the dynamics of accidents in the company over a certain period. This approach is more accurate compared with using absolute injury indicators (number of injuries), since each industrial company has its own characteristics that affect injury indicators in comparative analysis: number of employees, the complexities of the production processes, level of equipment wear, etc.

The accident injury rate per 1 million worked man-hours, according to the requirements of the International Labour Organization (FR), amounted to 0,32 for 2025 (compared to 0,59 in 2024).
During 2025, 12 accidents resulting in lost workdays were recorded at the company’s production sites (including own personnel and employees of contractors). For the first time since 2006, during the reporting year 2025, the company recorded no fatal workplace accidents, neither among its own personnel nor among the personnel of subsidiaries and contractors.
At the same time, the occupational injury rate per 1000 employees for the company’s own personnel, in accordance with Ukrainian legislation (FR), amounted to 1,10 for 2025. The number of such accidents totalled 14 (including 2 cases resulting in transfer to lighter work conditions), compared to 19 in 2024.
Most of injuries occurred due to organizational reasons - failure by managers to perform official duties, and failure by workers to comply with Health and Safety regulations.
Most of occupational injuries in 2025 occurred as a result of the following types of incidents:
- falls of injured person;
- exposure to harmful and toxic substances;
- falling, collapse, or crumbling of objects or materials
- electric shock.
During 2025, investigations were conducted into 599 potentially serious incidents and potential fatal events (SO/PSIF), of which 543 incidents were proactive, meaning that, thanks to preventive measures, the likelihood of a number of serious accidents was averted.
The program Journey to Zero remains a primary priority for ArcelorMittal sites around the world. The main aim of this project is to reduce the number of the work-related accidents to zero.
